I am certified to teach the following from Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Program:

 

Tai Chi for Arthritis

 

Tai Chi for Back Pain

 

In 1997, Dr. Paul Lam, a family physician and tai chi expert, worked with a team of tai chi and medical specialists to create the Tai Chi for Arthritis program. The special features of this unique program are that it is easy to learn, enjoyable, and provides many health benefits in a relatively short period of time.

 

This program is based upon Sun style tai chi and the basics can be learnt by most people in 8 - 12 one hour lessons, with regular practice in between lessons.

 

        What Are the Benefits?

 

        Helps to relieve pain and stiffness

        Relieves stress and depression

        Improves concentration and memory

        Improves balance and coordination

        Builds muscle strength and stamina

        Improves posture and biomechanics

        Increases circulation, heart and lung function

        Enhances the flow of Qi

Students who wish to go deeper into the Sun style can continue with the 42 step Sun style.

 

Note that this style of Tai Chi is suitable for anyone who wants to learn a unique and interesting tai chi form and is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.
